What’s going on in the forests in your neighbourhood? On Read Island, the folks above (left to right: Johanna Paradis, Kai Paterson, Jack Paterson, Emily Keller, Emily’s dad Ralph and—behind the lens—Lannie Keller) were surprised to find this big, previously unknown Douglas fir (30.5 feet in circumference at breast height) in the forest near their homes. They have nominated the tree for BC’s Big Tree Registry.
