    AS OF 2021, there are 254 species of plants, animals, lichens and macrofungi that are primarily found in forests that have been placed on either the BC Red List (extirpated, endangered or threatened) or the BC Blue List (special concern) by the BC Conservation Data Centre.

    This list includes Southern Mountain Caribou (red), Grizzly Bear (blue), American Badger (red), Northern Goshawk (laingi subspecies) (red), Northern Spotted Owl (red), the Wandering Salamander (blue), Macoun’s Meadowfoam (red), and fern-leaved desert-parsley (red).
