THE DASHBOARD BELOW CAN TAKE UP TO A MINUTE TO LOAD. We suggest that for the base map (“Base Map”), you choose “Imagery” (clicking on the Base Map button toggles between imagery and a topographic map). This will allow you to see forest and clearcuts within a fire’s perimeter. You will be able to see this better if you also turn off the “Fire Evacuation Orders and Alerts” layer (click on “All Layers” and uncheck unneeded layers). The coloured dots and other icons represent the approximate position at which a fire was first spotted. Click on those icons for more information about name, start date, the date of the most recent fire perimeter, and current fire size. “Fires of Note” are indicated by a flame icon. Zoom into and out of the map using the + and - buttons at bottom right of map. Pan around the map by clicking on it and dragging.
